Still not dead...
And shockingly twenty-four today. I don't know how I feel about that, so I do believe that I'll ignore it. Twenty-three was easy to ignore, after all. It prolly won't get painful until closer to thirty.

Also v. amused as it turns out that my understanding French comes in handy for unexpected reasons. I'd a hit of nostolgia tonight, so went looking for Seiji fic. Didn't find any that I haven't read before, and it seems all the image archives are dead and gone (and I will never ever get another copy of the song "Midnight Party", which is truly a woeful thing, as nothing else on this earth is quite of the crack as much as that song), but it does appear that there's a small French fandom still surviving. Or maybe it's actually been dead for years and the webpages are maintained on Google like bones in the Sahara, but as my French remains better than my Japanese, I can still gleefully chortle over what I find.

Like 90% of the movies I watch, it might be old, but it's still new to me.

Wai! Happy birthday! ♥ My 23rd is in a few weeks, and I'm kinda in the same boat as you... I just don't know how I feel about it.

As for the "old/new" thing, aren't your own perceptions of it the only thing that matters?

You prolly have a point, on both counts. And on the second, I'm more than used to being the last to know of anything cool, being terminally two or more years behind the times...

Oh, thank you!

honestly, I think being retroactively cool or learning of things out of their time frames could make it better. Because at least then you're doing it for your own reasons. But not only that; at least that way you're allowed more flexibility in your view of the... thing. And there's no line blurring as to what you think of it and what anyone else may think of it.

I hope that makes sense! ^^;; I've been cleaning house and doing laundry, so my brain could well be more than a bit dead.

Happy birthday!

And I hope that you enjoy both your birthday and your newfound Ronin Warriors fic.

Thank you! If my somewhat proficient French skills are up to the task, I am certain that I will.

You know the show Buck Rogers?

Where the years pass slowly at first and then go faster and faster as he rushes into the 25th century.. or is it the 24th..

Either way.. I haven't slowed down yet and it's still getting faster.. I think that started at around your age.

I remember when part of the fun of hanging around with you was that I could always drink because you always could drive.

I still can always drive. I haven't been in a non-drive worthy state since 2004 - more's the pity.

And yes, I remember Buck Rogers. Poorly, with the semi-attached memories that I also associate with The Love Boat and in both cases watched as daytime TV reruns as a v. young child while home sick during the day. Duck Dodgers has stuck with me far better.

Only around my age? Scary then - I first noticed it at closer to twenty. When I started working full time anyway... Might have something to do with it. The days all start to blend together.
